A new study from Zippia took a look at the products people in every state imports to find out what stuff each state is disproportionately purchasing. Now, we'll get to Iowa's in a moment and, it will make perfect sense. But first off, what's happening in Indiana that they need so much human blood!? Seriously, that's their item for the list...

So what is the item for Iowa? Corn cereal. Like, for breakfast... Makes sense, right? This is the corn capital... right? You could argue that is actually Nebraska. Their pick? Bacon. Hm, we're the #1 hog producing state, they get bacon we get corn cereal. Ah well.

In case you're wondering, 'corn cereals' you are likely buying inlcude:

  • Corn Pops
  • Kix
  • Cornflakes
  • Corn Chex
  • Frosted Flakes (theyyyy're great!)
  • Coco Puffs

All and all, seems like a good pick for Iowa.

In addition to our top purchase making sense, many other states picks are logical, like Hawaii buying spam and Nevada importing huge amounts of tequila. But a lot of them are REALLY strange. Like Indiana buying lots of that human blood, Georgia buying swords, Tennessee buying typewriters (in 2020?) and Delaware buying chloroform. Yikes.

See 'em all here. And stay away from me with that chloroform, Delaware.
