Are These Quad City Steak ‘n Shakes Closing?

We're down to two Quad City Steak 'n Shake locations; one in Davenport on 53rd St. and one on 41st Ave., Moline, but could they both be closing for good soon?

Early this year Steak 'n Shake closed 57 stores permanently, and add the financial struggles of the pandemic to this it looks like more will be closing by the end of this year.

There is no word on which restaurants will be closing, but in a news release sent out today, 51 additional locations will close this year.

"The COVID-19 pandemic has adversely affected our operations and financial results," the report said. "The COVID-19 pandemic could cause disruptions to our supply chain. Moreover, we cannot predict how the outbreak of COVID-19 will alter the future demand of our products."

Currently, the Steak 'n Shake drive-thru in Davenport and Moline is open, and I hope it stays that way. I enjoy the chocolate shakes, shoestring fries and chili-mac. Here's hoping. When a list of closings is announced we will let you know.
