The Mississippi River's flooding may be a headache when it comes to traffic, but as far as kayaking is concerned, it's kind of perfect. Obviously you need to be extra careful out on the water when it's so high, but it's still an awesome time.

Before you go pro on the river though, you have to learn the basics. And for many Quad Citizens, that happens during childhood! So next week, that's exactly what the Life Fitness Center is offering to kids.

Starting on Monday, June 24, kids ages 10-14 will have the opportunity to dip their toes in the water of kayaking (pun only slightly intended). According to a Facebook post from the Life Fitness Center, the 4-day camp will teach kids basic paddle strokes, map and compass skills, and most importantly, kayak rescues.

The camp will run from June 24-27, starting at 8 a.m. until noon, and costs $150 per child. For more information, click here!
