I like to go on dates with each of my children. It helps me connect with them individually and allows me to be there to hear about their concerns, thoughts and share in conversation about whatever their heart desires.

Last night, on my date with my six-year-old, I was informed that I needed to make her lunches differently. Way different. In fact, I didn't know what she was talking about with her new request, so she mapped it out for me on the back of the cafe placemat.

Not quite understanding what she meant and what she wanted me to do with the chips, she decided to literally spell it out for me!

If you haven't already guessed it, she is wanting me to crush up potato chips and roll them up in ham slices, sans bread, then promptly put the roll-up in tupperware. LOL!

I sure love our little dates! In the winter, as she explained to the waiter, she gets cocoa and I get coffee, which she tried. Apparently, she didn't like coffee. Look at this face! She now thinks I am gross and doesn't know how I can "stand the stuff."
