You can help 'stamp out hunger' this weekend simply by leaving a can of food next to your mailbox.

The 26th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, the country's largest single-day food drive, put on by the The National Association of Letter Carriers on happens Sat., May 12.

Leave donations of non-perishable goods next to your mailboxe before mail delivery on Saturday, when mail carriers will collect donations while they deliver mail. All the food collected in the Quad Cities will be donated to River Bend Foodbank. The goal is to collect 100,000 meals.

According to WQAD TV volunteers are also needed to help sort, pack, and stack the food onto pallets at postal locations for delivery to River Bend Foodbank. Shifts are 12 – 3 p.m. and 3 – 6 p.m. Saturday, May 13.

•    Davenport - 933 W 2nd St. & 4018 Marquette St.
•    Moline - 514 17th St.
•    Rock Island - 2633 11th St.
