Man Arrested For Kidnapping and Attempting to Sexually Assault Iowa Babysitter

The Courier reports a man was arrested for the kidnapping and attempted sexual assault of a Cedar Falls 16-year-old on Tuesday.

According to police, Saul Santos Vasquez-Martinez grabbed the girl, who was outside with the child she was babysitting, from a yard and dragged her into a nearby home. Once aside, he began fondling her.

The girl was able to fight off Vasquez-Martinez and ran back to the home where she was babysitting to call the police.

Vasquez-Martinez and the girl reportedly did not know each other. The victim received scratches and marks when she was being attacked.

Vasquez-Martinez, who is an illegal immigrant from El Salvador, has been charged with second-degree kidnapping and assault with intent to commit sexual abuse. His bond was set at $500,000.
