Miss Iowa Closer to Being Miss America

She made it through the preliminaries earlier this week! So, how close is she?

Iowans everywhere are proud of Taylor Wiebers, the current Miss Iowa, who is participating this week in the preliminary competitions for the final Miss America pageant, that will air live at 8 p.m. cst on ABC.

Taylor won the talent competition in Tuesday night's preliminary. She sang "Don't Forget Me" from the TV show "Smash."  I happen to think it's a perfect song for the occasion. After all, even having competed myself in a small-town pageant, it's charming to the judge's when the you perform the perfect song or dance for the night. Music's impact can never be underestimated in situations like this! Great selection, Taylor!

For winning that portion of preliminaries, she scored $2,000 and will now compete tonight with on-stage question, swimsuit and evening gown categories.If she gets through these, we could be seeing her on national television Sunday night.

Will she win? We don't know yet, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to keep her in your thoughts today!
