A woman from Spanaway, Wash. is accused of giving her three little kids heroin as a way to help them sleep.

Ashlee Hutt, 24, has pleaded not guilty to charges of second-degree child assault, child endangerment and delivery of a controlled substance to a person under 18. Her husband pleaded not guilty to the same charges in September. Both parents have admitted to being addicted to the drug.

Authorities were tipped off when someone called them to report seeing Hutt inject drugs into the kids, aged 2, 4 and 6. They investigated the couple between May and November of last year and had discovered heroin and rat excrement in their home.

According to KIRO:

A probable cause affidavit states the 6-year-old told CPS investigators: "His mom and dad give him and his sisters the 'feel good medicine,'" which "he described as a white powder which was mixed with water," and that his parents "used a needle to inject the 'feel good medicine' into him and his sisters." He stated that, after being injected, the three children would go to sleep, according to the affidavit.
