As a media person with a marketing background, I have much appreciation for creative, well-executed ideas. Whoever came up with Noon Year's Eve is a genius.

If you've not heard of it before, Noon Year's Eve is a New Year's celebration that takes place leading up to the Noon hour on New Year's Eve.  The timing of noon hour allows children to experience the same excitement and rituals associated with ringing in the new year during daylight hours.

Locally, Noon Year's Eve is held at the Family Museum in Bettendorf. Festivities include art activities for the whole family, live music, a countdown to 12:00 PM with noisemakers, party hats, and lots of confetti.

It almost makes me wish I was a kid so I could take part.  It would beat trying to stay up until midnight at my age.
