One of my earliest memories is swinging on a playset in the backyard while my Mom placed a radio in the back bedroom window to keep me company.  The music, and the DJs on the radio were my reliable companions throughout a difficult childhood, and I always hoped that I could one day be a radio friend/companion for others.

I've drifted in and out of the radio business, for a variety of reasons, for the past 35 years, but always came back because I missed the chance to make connections with you, the listeners.

The notion of a National DJ Day is kind of silly, but it provides me with an opportunity to say thanks to all of our KIIK 104.9 listeners. Clearly, without you, we could not do what we do.

I truly consider it an honor, a privilege to provide you the info you need to get your day started and entertain you with your favorite songs every weekday on The Morning KIIK Start, and weekends on Baggy Sweatshirt Saturday.

Thanks, as always, for listening to the new KIIK 104.9.
