Plant-Based Ice Cream: Another Food Adventure
I didn't think this existed. You won't believe what it's made from.
In my journey of healthy eating as a lifestyle, I aim to make it as enjoyable as possible. It's a real thing in my life and has been for awhile now. I've had my ups and downs and my 'never-agains' with it, too.
I have learned that most things aren't as bad as people make them out to be. I have also learned that my taste buds have changed over time and actually crave and want the healthy foods most people reject.
I have learned how to cook differently, make things differently and not give up on my favorite comfort foods, like ice cream. I love nothing more in the summer than some ice cream. However, my body doesn't want or like the dairy. So I switched to a coconut milk ice cream, which is delectable. It's creamy just like ice cream and I don't seem to eat as much. I highly recommend trying it.
Last night was a game changer. My two favorite foods morphed into one. Avocado ice cream in mint chocolate chip flavor. One of the coolest things is, it's made in Iowa. Oh yes, a regional, family-based business doing the ice cream business I love.
And you know what? It's pretty darn good. It feels good too, because I get fuller faster with nutrient dense ice cream. I get the satisfaction of having a healthier choice and one that agrees better with my body. Who knew? Plant-based ice cream exists and it's good, by my standards anyway.
