WQAD reports that McDonald's is releasing a new breakfast sandwich called the Triple Breakfast Stack nationwide on November 1.

The Triple Breakfast Stack is aptly named since it features two slices of American cheese, two sausage patties, bacon, and an egg. Now that's a lot of food.

The reason behind adding the Stack to their menu? Apparently, McD's customers have been asking for larger breakfast sandwiches.

“People have been hacking our menu for years,” said Mike Haracz, manager of culinary innovation. The triple stacks were inspired by those orders, he said. Linda VanGosen, vice president of menu innovation, said that customers have been requesting bigger sandwiches for breakfast.

The chain is also trying to keep up with breakfast competition from rival restaurants. Dunkin' Donuts and Taco Bell have both found success with their breakfast offerings and deals. We'll see if the Triple Breakfast Stack ends up paying off for McDonald's.
