QC Phone Numbers Burned in My Memory

Yesterday, having brunch with my Mom, I traveled down phone-number-memory-lane. Do you remember these Quad City phone numbers and what business they were associated with?

I have vivid memories of writing my childhood home phone number, grandparent's phone number and others (see below) on the side of our house with crayons. I had them burned into my memory and for whatever reason, they all came flooding back yesterday!

First, I remember when all the Davenport and Bettendorf area codes were (319)...jus' sayin'

788-8833 - I think was the story time phone line you could dial in to and the library had a recorded story to listen to. I just remember feeling so grown up any time I could use the phone for anything!

Maybe that is how and why I ended up in radio! Yes, I was a chronic listener and caller beginning about age 8, of Power 98-point- 9, 786-9809.
