If you've ever attended a musical event for Bettendorf schools or any local music event requiring speakers, mics and a mixing board, you've probably seen Butch Bos running cables and testing equipment.

Last weekend Butch's Port Byron home caught fire while he and his wife were setting up a show for Davenport's Street Fest. His home was a total loss and much of his sound gear and the equipment valued in the hundreds of thousands he stored for others was destroyed.

Butch has been a sound person mainstay in the area and many local musicians have benefited by his services. It's no surprise local musician, Tom Ramirez and friends are organizing a benefit to help Butch maintain his livelihood and rebuild a home. Many local musicians have offered to loan Butch sound equipment so he can keep working.

If you're looking to reach out, you'll find Butch  at the Mississippi Valley Fair doing what he knows best; working. You can learn more about Butch here. Watch KIIK 104.9's web and Facebook pages for more information on the upcoming fundraiser.
