Red, White, and Boom! 2015 has moved to Saturday, July 4, 2015 and admission is free!

You'll be able to see the fireworks from either side of the river again this year and events will happen at Modern Woodmen Park in Davenport, Iowa and at Schwiebert Riverfront Park in Rock Island, Illinois.

On the Illinois side in Rock Island, events include a 3 p.m. park opening with inflatables ($5 wristband), children’s activities, food vendors and a beer garden. Kids can meet the Little Mermaid and Rapunzel at the park. Main stage performances include country oldies music mixed with comedy by The Country Couch Potatoes, a proclamation and military tribute, and performances by Smooth Groove.

In Davenport activities start at 5 p.m. and will include free bounce houses, a scavenger hunt, face painting, crafts and a chance to write a letter to a soldier. They planned to show the movie “Little Rascals” on the River Bandits’ giant screen. Wicket Liz and the Belly Swirls will perform after the fireworks.

Fireworks will be launched from two barges in the Mississippi River at 9:30 p.m. The display is said to be the biggest this year between Chicago and Denver. In addition to the above parks, viewing areas will be set up at LeClaire Park in Davenport and at the Davenport Skybridge.
