Well, I thought construction season would be over soon, but for folks in Bettendorf, the cones and delays will extend into mid-October at least.

The city will begin patching 18th Street between Spruce Hills Drive and Tech Drive beginning Thursday, September 27th.

They call it full-depth patching, so that means the road will be dug up pretty deep to pour new concrete.

During the construction period, traffic will be reduced to one lane in either direction.

Though a tentative date for completion has been set as October 18th, the city says weather will be a determining factor for completion of the project.

Traffic in the area is likely to get pretty hairy, especially during rush hour with Bettendorf Middle School just blocks away. So, slow down, leave yourself a little extra time to get around, and be patient.
