Rosefest in Clinton Moved Indoors Tonight and Tomorrow

Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Clinton, IA. kicks off their annual Rosefest tonight at 8 p.m. with Exile and Terri Clark and Starship and Sawyer Brown take the stage tomorrow night at 8 p.m. This event has been moved INDOORS due to weather concerns.

I'll never forget how I met Sawyer Brown. I was 18 years old and my boyfriend at the time broke up with me.  So, I went to the outdoor concert alone. I was able to get a great parking space not too far from their tour bus, so I walked by on my way in.  Naturally, my 18 year old self got super excited at the thought that any member from Sawyer Brown could come walking out of that bus at any moment, so I lingered a little, walked more slowly and struck up a conversation with their managers.

Next thing you know, I had tickets AND "official" backstage passes (although I had already met them)! It got even better, because when I turned around in excitement, the local, evening news crew was there to catch it all on camera and then interviewed me. That definitely made my evening better but then something else happened!

The ex-boyfriend called me that night to say, " I saw you on the news tonight and if a little break up 'screw you' was what you were after, point-taken."  While that was not at all what I was after, I couldn't help but smile at the thought that maybe, just maybe, he felt a little badly for dumping me. He would have been with me at the concert!
