There's nothing like the warm glow of a festive balloon glowing bright at dusk. You can experience this and much more at the Quad Cities Balloon Festival this weekend September 28 and September 29.

In addition to the balloon glow at dusk you can see a balloon launch each day!  Take a tethered balloon ride. Enjoy food and drink from various vendors and kids can enjoy the kid's area featuring Jumpin' Joey's Bounce Houses.

Admission to the Quad Cities Balloon Festival is free, although they would like attendees to bring an item to donate to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center. They need Purina Pro Plan dog food, Purina Cat and Kitten Chow and a variety of other items to help the animals they serve. You can see the list here.

If you're interested in the tethered balloon ride that will cost $15 a person. Jumpin' Joey's Bounce Houses will have a play all day wristband for $10 per child.

The Quad Cities Balloon Festival takes place at The Rock Island County Fairgrounds. 4200 Archer Drive. East Moline 61244.

  • 5:15PM CT Balloon Launch (Tethered balloon rides begin after launch)
