Seriously… Just Before Thanksgiving, a Gravy Recall?

Be honest, have you ever passed off something at your holiday meal as homemade when it really came from a can, a tin, or the freezer?

I have to admit that one year I served two soup choices at a family Christmas Eve  dinner. One chili and one potato. The potato soup was a huge hit, and everyone had "compliments for the cook." I suppose it was wrong to take credit when it was really from the fine folks at Campbell's.

So if you're tempted to pass off gravy from a jar as homemade this Thanksgiving be careful. Heinz has recently recalled around 500 cases of Heinz HomeStyle Bistro Au Jus Gravy because they are mislabeled. According to this story from WQAD the mislabeled lot has a manufacturers code of MU6F04 4Q and contain ingredients that could impact some with certain food allergies.
