A New Jersey Assemblyman has introduced legislation to ban the practice of de-clawing cats in New Jersey. The assemblyman, and many veterinarians claim that the procedure is akin to mutilation.

The procedure of de-clawing a cat not only removes the nail, but also part of the cats toe bone. Many vets now refuse to provide the service.
