Nabisco updated one of our favorite childhood snack boxes after pressure from PETA, but there's still something the company missed.

Nabisco has been making Barnum's Animals Crackers since 1902 and we're used to seeing  a small box designed to look like a circus wagon complete with a handle (years ago it used to be a string). Until now, the box showed the animals in cages, as one would expect of a circus wagon from years gone by.

Back in the old days the wheels of the wagon could be punched out and folded down to stand up and there was a clown on the box top that could be punched out and folded to be a part of the circus. It was a treat and a play set all in one.

PETA made a push for Nabisco to redesign the package to depict the animals free to roam rather than in cages. Nabisco made the change and now the animals are free. I can get behind that. But here's what gets me. Why are they still called 'crackers' and not cookies? They sure don't taste like a cracker. Who do we see about making that change.

I'm glad PETA stepped up, but I wonder if they realize even though the animals aren't caged anymore,  aren't they just as concerned  we're eating the animals by biting their heads off first? Don't tell me you don't do that, because you do.
