Stores like Fareway and Dollar General are stepping up to help seniors avoid large crowds during the coronavirus pandemic. And many people online are supporting this idea.

Dollar General announced plans to dedicate the first hour of every business day to senior shoppers, as well as to change store operating hours. Dollar General is now strongly encouraging that the first hour of operations each day be dedicated solely for the shopping needs of senior customers, who are one of the groups most vulnerable to the COVID-19 coronavirus.

This trend really took off when the Australian grocery chain Woolworths started its stores an hour early for its elderly and disabled customers.

If you have a loved one who is over the age of 65 or dealing with cretin health conditions experts are recommending you check up on them and make sure they are prepared and stocked up with basic necessities.
