We're getting ready for Cicadapocalypse 2024 and learning more about the critters as it gets closer.

That huge forecast of cicadas for us this year has an added issue.

In a few months, an extraordinary phenomenon will occur in the United States that hasn't happened since the time of President Thomas Jefferson and won't repeat until 2245. It's the emergence of billions of cicadas from underground, creating an extraordinary spectacle known as cicadapocalypse

Hawkeye State will have to wait another ten years before our hoard of hellions rises up. 2031 will be the year that we get our share of cicadas. Officials say that they will most likely come up sometime around July of that year and stay around until the first big frost of the year.
