10 Things I Love About Fall

If fall is your favorite season like it is mine, here are 10 things every person who loves fall likes to do... Or maybe it's just me!

1. Car rides in the QC

I love to take drives and take in the scenery. It helps me think, process and the scenery adds to the artist in me. I love long drives along the river even more, especially in the fall. The colors of the trees, the crisp Mississippi River, music up, windows cracked. Ahhh... I can smell it now. I can't wait!

2. Scarves

I am a sucker for a great scarf.  I like wearing them every season but summer. Fall is a great time to break out your favorite scarves and of course, shop for a few more! You can never have enough, can you?

3. Hats

I wear them all year long! I love a trendy hat in the fall. It really gives you a feel for someone's personality, and my hats are always different but definitely on my head in colder months. I have a growing collection and I love 'em.

4. Sweaters and Boots

'Nuff said. Cozy, cuddly, soft... can't wait!

5. Pumpkins

I use pumpkins for a variety of things. I love drying out the seeds. They are tasty and there are many health benefits too. I make pumpkin soup, pumpkin pies, bake custard in the actual pumpkin (that's a real show stopper!), and of course, decorating and carving pumpkins. Nothing says fall, quite like pumpkins.

6. Fire

Who doesn't love a good fire? Crisp air, fire to keep you warm, friends, conversation and the dancing flames all say fall to me!

8. Leaves

Some of my kiddos favorite memories include us jumping into piles of fall leaves. Raking them up, jumping in and repeating the fun. It's the only time of year you can do this! Enjoy it!

9. The Colors

Thanks to my friend and weatherman, Eric Sorensen at WQAD for posting about the beautiful fall colors we are in store for in the QC! I am seeing the tops of trees change in Davenport and get so excited to see the fall in full bloom.
