Due to copyright and the inability to sing, I will not be singing you "Happy Birthday." Instead, I'll let you know how common, or least common, your birthday is. Before you keep reading, consider how long a pregnancy lasts and what one of the biggest parties of the year is...

If you think back on your early days of elementary, middle and high school, do you remember how many kids shared the same birthday as you? Or how many of your friends had birthdays in the same month? It seemed like there was always one month of the year where you were at a bowling alley eating birthday cake every weekend.

Even though most of your friends may have been born in March, there actually is data to show now only the most common birthday month, but also just the most common birthday. Zippia wanted to find out that answer and they did. Let's take a look at how they did it.

According to Zippia, to find out the most common and least common birthday, they used data aggregated by FiveThirtyEight on the number of births on each day between 1994 to 2014. That data took birth data for the years 1994 to 2003 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Health Statistics. U.S. births data for births between 2000 to 2014 came from the Social Security Administration. Thank goodness for Zippia because we don't have time for that.

Nonetheless, the way to figure out the most common birthday mathematically is the more babies born on average, the more common the birthday.

If you take a look at the heat map above, the darker the blue the most common the birthday. The darker the red, the more least common the birthday. Note that the super dark red days are months without 31st days.

So what are the most popular birthday's?

If you think about what mommy and daddy are doing 9 months before September, remember that is during Christmas and New Years. Not sure why July 7th is in there, but for some real a lot of people wanted a July baby born on that day.

What about the least popular birthday's?

10 Least Popular Birthdays

  1. December 25th
  2. January 1st
  3. December 24th
  4. July 4th
  5. January 2nd
  6. December 26th

  8. November 23rd
  9. November 25th
  10. October 31st

Even though a lot of people are conceiving around the December holidays, no one is having a baby on Christmas. My birthday is actually #8 on this list.

And if you want to look on the bright side either way, the more common your birthday is then you have more people to celebrate with. If you have a less common birthday then you can feel special and have the whole day to yourself!
