The Most Misspelled Words in Iowa and Illinois

I pride myself on being an excellent speller. In elementary school, I was always the last kid standing when we did spelling drills.

I'm not sure I was ever good enough to have appeared in The Scripps National Spelling Bee, which just crowned their champs for 2017, but I was, and remain a solid speller.

We all have certain words that we struggle to spell correctly. The folks at Google Trends decided to use searches to determine what the most misspelled word in each state was.

For Iowans, the word maintenance seems to present spelling problems. For Illinois residents, the word appreciate is a challenge.
