Local News 4 is reporting that the Northern Lights may be visible in the QCA this weekend.

Right now, the NOAA is tracking a geomagnetic storm that has the potential to make the Northern Lights visible in Iowa and Illinois. The storm flare took place Wednesday and will hit our atmosphere Saturday.

It's rare for the light show to make an appearance this far south, but it does happen from time to time. Local News 4 cautions that we may not see anything this weekend. Your best chance of catching the lights is out in the country, away from light pollution this Saturday night.
