One of the many tornadoes around the QCA last night touched down in Rock Island County, and today the National Weather Service confirmed it was an EF-2 tornado.

Hampton, Rapids City, and some parts of East Moline were the hardest hit.  The strong winds also did damage in Milan and Rock Island.

Wind speeds reached an amazing 130 mph and experts are saying the tornado was approximately 200 yards wide.

The storm did damage to some resident housing at Augustana College, as well as the Target, Hy-Vee, Hobby Lobby complex on the corner of John Deere Rd. and 7th Street in Moline.  See the aftermath HERE.

Also, nearly a half-dozen more tornados were spotted in and around the QCA.
