28 train cars derailed five-miles south of Sabula, Sunday evening.

Canadian Pacific states that at approximately 8 p.m., a northbound Canadian Pacific train carrying coal derailed approximately 5 miles south of Sabula.

No injuries were reported, and there were no environmental or safety hazards.

Late Monday morning, Canadian Pacific released a statement saying “Teams and heavy equipment are on site, and a temporary road is being constructed so machinery can reach the derailed cars. Safety and environmental protection will remain our highest priorities as we work to recover from this incident. We are communicating directly with customers as to any service impacts, and will stage and reroute trains as necessary.”
