It Is Happening Again, and ‘Twin Peaks’ Has the Posters to Prove It
It was this very day, twenty-eight years gone, that Agent Dale Cooper first entered the town of Twin Peaks to investigate the murder of Laura Palmer. As such, Showtime would very much like to remind us of that fact in time for its May revival, spotlighting the pair in two new posters.
Seeing as “It Is Happening Again,” Twin Peaks debuted two new posters for the official Showtime revival featuring both the classic Sheryl Lee Laura Palmer image superimposed over the woods, and another with an older-seeming Coop. Both more or less follow the pattern of recent teasers reminding us of both Coop’s Black Lodge fate, as well that Laura Palmer was … well, still dead.
In addition to the May 21 double-premiere, new cast includes the likes of Monica Bellucci, Michael Cera, Tim Roth, Ghostbusters alum Ernie Hudson, Walking Dead star Josh McDermitt, and musicians like Eddie Vedder (who contributes a song) and Trent Reznor. The full listing lies below:
Twin Peaks star Madchen Amick’s return is also set, alongside Dana Ashbrook, Sheryl Lee, Michael Horse, Sherilyn Fenn, the late Miguel Ferrer, David Patrick Kelly, Richard Beymer and fellow new additions Ashley Judd, James Belushi, Naomi Watts, Tom Sizemore, Laura Dern, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Peter Sarsgaard, Robert Knepper, Amanda Seyfried and Balthazar Getty.
We’ll see (somewhat) more in the coming months, but what other major Twin Peaks happenings will inform the top-secret revival?
