Two local schools have been named a part of Illinois' best small colleges.

In a list by Niche, both Augustana and Monmouth Colleges were on the list.

Augusta ranked at #4 out of the 41 schools on the list.

The school had a three-and-a-half star ranking, but scored better than other schools in a list of factors.

In academics, the school scored an "A;" in value, the school scored an "A-;" in professors, an "A;" and in student life the college scored an "A."

In student surveys of overall experience, the school received an average of 4.3/5.

The campus scored an "A;" in diversity, a "B;" the local area was graded a "B-;" and the school also received a "B-" in safety.

Monmouth College came in less than ten later at #13.

The school received an "A" grade in safety; an "A-" in value; a "B+" in diversity; a "B" in professors, student life, and academics; a "B-" in campus; and the local area scored a "C."

The overall campus experience was an average of 4.1/5. The school was rated at three-and-a-half stars.
