Scary news.

Over 1.4 million UnityPoint patients in Illinois, Iowa, and southern Wisconsin have had their data compromised by hackers, according to WQAD.

WQAD reports UnityPoint employees were scammed into divulging email sign in information to phishers posing as UP execs.

The data breach puts personal data, including dates of birth, driver's license numbers, medical records, insurance information, Social Security numbers, addresses, and more at risk.

Those directly effected by the breach should receive a notice in the mail from UnityPoint this week.

UnityPoint is making efforts to help ease the fears of their patients by offering free credit monitoring for a year, along with setting up a help line (1-888-266-9285) and a website to find more info on the breach.
