UnityPoint-Trinity has had to make such tough calls in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic in order to protect their patients and staff.

Local News 4 reports the healthcare system is now banning all visitors from their QC hospitals and inpatient facilities indefinitely.

There are a few special circumstances where visitors are permitted:

- Patients under the age of 18 may have one parent or legal guardian visit

- One partner allowed for the birth of a child

- One family member is permitted for end-of-life care patients

Visitors must stay in the patient's room for the entire visit (that means no running home or to get food). Additionally, no visitors are allowed for patients who have a pending or positive COVID-19 test.
