Restrictions are easing a bit at our local hospitals.

According to KWQC.com, UnityPoint Health Trinity will allow one visitor now at all of their hospitals and inpatient locations.

You need to be at least 18 years old as a visitor. That doesn't apply to end of life care.

If you've been planning on an elective surgery and you want to bring a plus one, you can now. There are some circumstances to be aware of and if you have any questions, UnityPoint wants you to call. Here are the considerations according to the KWQC.com article.

  • ER Patients,
  • Surgical and procedural patients,
  • Adult inpatients,
  • Outpatient appointments and procedures,
  • Patients with cognitive impairments

You may be allowed to bring two visitors for pediatric patients and end of life care.

No visitors will be allowed for Covid-19 patients or those who might have Covid-19.

Maybe that hospital visit will be a little less scary now that you can bring someone with you.
