It's no fun telling you about Quad City businesses closing for good. A women's clothes retailer is closing two stores at NorthPark and SouthPark Malls.

Christopher & Banks, a women's clothes store targeted to women over 40, announced it filed for Chapter 11and expects to close a significant portion, if not all, of its 400 brick-and-mortar stores including the stores at NorthPark and SouthPark Malls. All 23 stores in Iowa will close and all 23 stores in Illinois will close as well.

The closing stores feature an abundant assortment of merchandise at very significant price reductions. Customers will save on their favorite apparel for work, play and special occasions”, a spokesperson for Hilco Merchant Resources said in a news release.

Fixtures in the stores will also be sold and online sales will continue, but not at discounted prices. Here is the complete list of stores in Iowa and Illinois that are closing.

The last day to use gift cards in stores is Feb. 12 and the company said in a notice of modifications to customer programs that there are “no changes to online gift card redemption at this time.”
