If you know me, you know I love to dance. I love all kinds of dancing. There is something about it that just frees my soul, makes me smile and gives me joy. Dancing is one of the earliest memories I have. I have been dancing as long as I have been walking. It’s just a part of who I am and after giving it up for awhile, it is something about ‘me’ I will never make the mistake of ever giving up again.

I dance whenever [and wherever] the opportunity strikes…and who cares if it IS at Hy-Vee in the Health Market aisle? or the Goodwill? or at work? If Hy-Vee checked their security cameras, they’d be sure to find me and my girls dancing in the footage!

Yesterday, I started my new work outs. What I wasn’t expecting, was that I would get to dance with my trainer in the gym! I can’t even begin to tell you how much that meant to me. It has been a very long time since I have had the chance to dance with a male partner actually doing choreographed moves (instead of just kinda bouncing around on the dance floor). East Coast Swing, The Cha-Cha, The Hustle. He has danced before and I knew this but it got stored somewhere in the back of my mind and must have gotten pushed out with all the new info and “Mom” stuff that goes in.

Because of that, I was pleasantly surprised and reminded that my new trainer is also a dancer. I am thrilled and if he does some “Poppin n Lockin,” I will be sure to trade him for extra squats and reps. We’ll see how it goes.
