1- Moline Police are asking for the public's help in searching for a red 4-door vehicle and its driver after a shooting near City Line Plaza on the Rock Island-Moline border left one man dead last night. Our news partner WQAD News 8 has the details.

2 - Today is the "day the music died." The event memorialized in Don McLean's song American Pie. On this date in 1959, Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, and the Big Bopper died in a plane crash after a tour stop in Clear Lake, Iowa. 3 - Imagine if Sunday's Super Bowl were being played in Rock Island. At one time, it was a possibility. Rock Island was home to one of the founding teams of the National Football League. The Rock Island Independents were a very successful team, and Rock Island's Douglas Park a popular place among NFL players in the early days of the league. I indulge in a little 'what if?' about a Super Bowl in Rock Island on my blog. Get up to date on local scores and more on That Sports Thing at about 7:35 this morning on FM 104.9

4 - Though we're up for more sunshine today with a high of 30º, and a pretty mild weekend, WQAD Meteorologist Eric Sorensen says we could see some snow next week.
