Fans of Quad Cities fave Governor's Pub and Grill will be thrilled to hear the recently closed restaurant has reopened...sort of.

Patrons were understandably upset when Governor's closed its doors recently. Luckily, the QC Times reports, the restaurant will somewhat live on in its new incarnation, The Tangled Wood, which opened Monday.

According to management, the new restaurant will be similar to Governor's, but on a bigger scale.

"(The Tangled Wood) features 7,400-square-feet of indoor space and 8,000-square-feet of outdoor space, which will soon accommodate an outdoor bar, fire pits, green space, games, and an amphitheater. A large outdoor bike rack is on site for cyclists using the nearby Devils Glen Road Sidepath."

The name change reflects the restaurants move to a much larger venue on Tanglewood Rd. in Bettendorf.

The restaurant will retain many of Governor's menu favorites, along with new sandwiches, salads, pizzas, appetizers, and desserts.
