If you've traveled to Ankeny or Des Moines recently, you may want to check yourself for symptoms of measles.

Those who visited the Hardee's on Merle Hay Road in Des Moines on April 13 and the Ankeny Panera on Southeast Deleware Road on April 16 could have been exposed to measles by a patient from Missouri, says the Des Moines Register.

A warning has been issued to anyone who may have been at the restaurants that day. It's possible other places in Iowa could also be at risk since the patient spent several days in the state. Make sure to contact friends and family members who live, work, or travel in the Des Moines area.

Measles is extremely contagious and can be contracted through the air. Symptoms include cough, fever, runny nose, and a red rash.
