In less than 2 weeks, America will be celebrating its 244th birthday. You can already hear fireworks going off in neighborhoods around the Quad Cities. Being in the Midwest, we think floating on the river, drinking cold beer and yelling "'Merica" in place of happy 4th of July is pretty patriotic. But which states are actually patriotic and which states are not? Thankfully for WalletHub, we now have those answers.

With the United States dealing with many protests against police brutality happening throughout the country, the United States being on the cusp of a 'second wave' of the coronavirus, it's hard to feel patriotic. The coronavirus has already forced firework shows and 4th of July festivals here in the Quad Cities and throughout the country to cancel or postpone.

Going to large firework shows, attending parades, attending cookouts, and other large events seem like a great way to show your patriotism for the U.S. When it's not the 4th of July, there are plenty of other ways to be patriotic and show love for your country. Thanking and showing appreciation for military servicemembers, volunteering to help people in need, voting in elections, purchasing products made in the United States and from local businesses, and so many other ways.

WalletHub conducted a survey to figure out which states had the most love for the United States of America. WalletHub compared all 50 states across 13 key factors of patriotism. Those 13 factors fell into two categories, civic engagement and military engagement among the population in each state.

Iowa landed in the 29th spot. Iowa was giving a 39 for military engagement, and 19 for civic engagement.

The most patriotic state according to WalletHub was New Hampshire, and New Jersey was dubbed the least patriotic state. You can read more about WalletHub's findings on their website.
